Twitter Job Hustle, The Most Creative Way To Get A Job Using Twitter
As you all know I am currently looking for a new flag to wave, a new company to advocate, and a new family of smart, creative individuals to stand side by side with as we venture into the unknown frontier that the Social Media industry is. My job selection process is very particular, because I only want to work for a company I truly believe in, one who has an awesome corporate culture, and who has interesting individuals I can grow with. The way I figure out if a company is worthy to apply to is by spending as much time as it takes to check out the companies website, check each team members personal profiles and the companies social media profiles. This way I can make an educated decision on whether or not I would be willing to go in early, stay late and work my butt off to move the company forward.
“Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” Confucius
This quote is only partially true, because the company must also be as awesome as the job. If I find that the company I researched is not this, even if the position is perfect and the offering is great, I would not apply for the position. This is because I only give 110% to what I do, because working in Social Media is not work to me, it is my passion so if I can’t go to an environment that nurtures this passion I won’t go. While I was checking out the Whispr Group’s Facebook fan page I stumbled on a video they posted there that is one of the most creative, inspiring and effective uses of Twitter to find a job I have ever seen. I applied to the position at the Whispr Group because I have not met anyone from their team and they have already inspired me. So regardless of if it works out and I join the team I have already grown from interacting with their brand. That is the essence of social media, which generates powerful social mentions and makes your brand thrive. The one question I have for you Linda is why doesn’t the Whispr Group have a blog? The people would love to Whispr to their friends regarding the content you curate because you have inspirational taste.
