Glenn Ligon, 15 Great Works of Art
Below are my favorite works of art from Glenn Ligon. I jut learned about him so I don’t know much, but I love that he uses different mediums to create his art. Most of the other artist that I have written about like Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso and Sally Mann used either painting or photography to create art. Glenn Ligon created art via photography, painting, sculptures and videos. I like that Ligon uses video as well to create art. I am a video editor and every time I shoot and edit a video I feel like i am creating a work of art (here is one). My favorite piece from Glenn Ligon is his Self Portrait, which can be found below. I love it because it was not what I had expected, I think all art should have a touch of the unexpected in it.
